Background and Genesis

Islamic Aid Bangladesh (IAB), a non profit organization emerged in 1990 with special values of Islam. It is exempted from taxes for all emergency relief and rehabilitation activity. The organization has been registered with the Social Welfare Department of Bangladesh Government in 1990. Later it has been further registered with the NGO Affairs Bureau, Prime Minister’s Secretariat, Government of Bangladesh in 1992.

IAB as a development partner has been implementing a number of charity, welfare as well as development programs at grass root level in different regions of Bangladesh since its inception in 1990. Islamic Aid Bangladesh is on move to explore the possibility of fund and implements a number of humanitarian programs, such as ; health and sanitation activities, education, orphans support, iftar feasting, zakat, sadaka and fitra collection and distribution, qurbani and frozen meat distribution, emergency relief and disaster management programs etc.
